Out sick… Financial Independence is indeed a long journey

After coming back from my 10 day Asia trip on June 7 I basically slept for the next 3 days. I thought I didn’t have any jet lag but perhaps I was incorrect. Then the past Monday I went on a quick 2-day business trip to Boise, Idaho. There was no direct flight to Boise from Vancouver, so I had to transfer in Seattle. It was super bumpy coming in and out of Seattle both ways and I got a bit dizzy due to the constant bumpiness. Yucks!

Both Baby T1.0 and baby T2.0 have been coughing and sneezing since I got back from my Asia trip. I thought I would be good and would not catch anything from them. Unfortunately, I woke up Wednesday after my Boise trip with a terrible sore throat. Things only got worse on Thurs so I ended up staying home to recover. I slept until 3 PM on Thursday.

I am feeling better now, thank you for asking, but still not quite 100%. So for today, I’ll show you some pictures and some old posts that may be interesting to read, rather a new & unique post I usually do for Monday morning.

Extremely pricey bottle of beer at Boise. It’s a 3L bottle but still…

And while having dinner and drinks in a restaurant in Boise, the waitress asked for my ID! Apparently, I looked like a 21-year-old!

Enjoy your Monday and have a great rest of the week!

Feel better Bob! After traveling so much, I’m actually pretty surprised you didn’t pick up a bug earlier. Being in all those public spaces (like airports and airplanes), a human can get exposed to a lot of different microbes.

I tend to catch some kind of bug every time we travel overseas. Not fun, but it comes with the territory.

Thanks Mr. Tako. I usually am pretty good when it comes to traveling and staying healthy. Must have caught something on my Boise trip. 🙁

Feel better! Allergies might also be giving you a run for your money right now, unfortunately.

I can’t imagine paying $1800 for a bottle of beer! We’ll stick with the Kirkland brand at my house. 🙂

Fortunately I don’t have any allergies, just fighting off the sickness now.

Yea $1,800 for a bottle of beer is too steep for me.

Ditto for me as well, Tawcan. Feel better. And thanks for the brief post. I’ve always wanted to go to Boise. But maybe not, if those are the beer prices I can expect. Cheers.

Thank you Mr. Groovy. Feeling a little better now but not quite 100% yet.

The regular beer prices were reasonable, just this special jug was out of our price range.

Mrs. RB40 picked up a cough in Iceland. She’s doing okay, but I hope it doesn’t spread to us. 🙁
You should take a few days off work to recover. You already traveled so much for them. I’m sure they’d understand.

Yucks, hopefully Mrs. RB40 will feel better soon. I did take a few days off and also worked from home a few days.
